It’s been a while (ok, a long while) since we communicated with you guys, here. That’s because we’ve been hard at work on some cosmetic changes to the Healthy and Active store. Over the next week or so you’re going to see some new updates and looks.
The goal here is to get you to what you’re looking for, faster, and to make the overall shopping experience easier and more enjoyable. The first phase of this is complete, so allow me to highlight some of the key changes, we’ve implemented to this point.
Store Width – The store is now about 30% wider. Since more people are using widescreen monitors nowadays, more of our store fills in the space. We also centered the store on the screen to make it easier to see and shop around.
4 Rows of Items – Before when you shopped with us, we presented two columns with 2 items in each row. Now we’ve upped that to 4 items in each row. This gives you a chance to see more of our great offerings on the screen, without having to scroll through so many pages.
Items You May Also Like – Check out the page for the Wand Essentials Wand Massager. See those items on the right. Over time, you’ll see more and more of those right-hand column additions. While the bottom set of related items are similar products that you may find comparable, right-hand items are to be seen more as ‘pairings’ for the item you’re currently looking at.
It’s kind of like being at Olive Garden and they present the right wine to go with a particular dish. That’s how you can view the right-hand column items. So if you’re looking at a vibrator, expect to see the proper batteries. If you’re looking at a wand, expect to see the right attachments, etc. This way you won’t have to traverse through the entire store trying to get together the right collection of items for your needs.
Of course as more changes are made, we’ll be sure to point them out to you. And also, you may see some wonkiness while we iron out any bugs that can arise when you finally send something live.

It’s great to see people are taking advantage of our free shipping offer. For those, in the U.S., who don’t know – whenever you spend $79 or more at Healthy and Active you’re given free standard shipping as an option.
However, we’ve also now gone back and made sure that the 2nd Day and Next Day shipping options are more affordable. While having free standard is nice, sometimes you really want that product to be there soon. With 2nd Day and Next Day you can make sure that the item(s) get there in time for that birthday, anniversary or special getaway.
We hope you now take advantage of all of our shipping options.

Starting today, when you spend $79 or more at Healthy and Active, you’ll be eligible for free standard shipping (within the United States). When you enter your zip code, you’ll see Standard as a free option.
Note that if you use any coupon codes and it brings your total below the $79 threshold, then free standard is no longer an option.
We’re excited to be offering this for all of our customers, without the need for coupon codes or to even remember that it’s there. It will happily remind you every time you shop.

When you’re shopping for products, what are some of the factors that assist you in your buying decisions? The pictures? The specs? The daydreams of what this product could add to your sex life? There are many things that help a person decide whether a particular product is of value to them.
Which is why the product description is very important to us.
You see, we add a variety of sex toys to Healthy and Active every week. When the announcement of new items is made on Twitter, it’s great to watch all of you head over to the new items page and see what’s up and exciting (haha ‘up and exciting’). We also know that reading about the product is a key factor to help you figure out the benefits of getting any item.
Recently, over the past few months, we added a new section of our product descriptions called “At-A-Glance”. If you’re the type of person that likes to read the crib notes instead of the entire book, this is the section you want. What we do is take the paragraphs and summarize them so that you can get a quick and easy rundown of the product that you’re interested in. You could also opt to read the full description since we also like to spark the visual imagery in your imagination and help you visualize putting a particular item into action.
When we write a product description, we don’t like to simply rehash what’s written on the box (anyone can do that). We prefer to think of it like this: What if we were shopping with you in a physical store and you said to us “Hey, what’s this?”. The way we would answer you, as a friend, is the way we write our product descriptions. We like to have fun, be quirky and be vivid.
We hope that our write ups for every product helps you make an informed and exciting new purchase.

Recently, we found a glitch where customers using Internet Explorer 8 were unable to see any of the product pages within our store. We managed to track down the issue (it was related to the coding that was used to implement our new sharing buttons) and have resolved it.
If you are a customer of ours, who uses Internet Explorer 8, please feel free to come back to our store and resume your sexy shopping experience. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience for anyone.
